Applejack 3 by eebharas Applejack 3 by eebharas
More pattern changes! I think I've finally finished making edits to my pattern. Well, major edits at least. Applejack's legs are longer and better shaped than they were previously, and I also changed my pattern for AJ's bangs and her tail for this Applejack. I consider all of these things an improvement.

Applejack's made out of minky, her hat's made out of faux leather, and her little ponytail holders are made out of transparent satin ribbon. Applejack is not for sale.

I don't remember exactly anymore. Something like 16 or 17 inches. My pattern has changed a lot since then.

I'm actually making an AJ plush myself right now, and I could really use any advise you could give me in regards to the hat if you don't mind my asking. :)

Honestly, my advice would be to buy one. They're not constructed very differently than the way they look, but they're very difficult to sew (that material isn't very forgiving, and in order to make them work, there's very little seam allowance)and the fabric options to make them realistic is pretty limited without using real leather, which seems awkward considering her character is supposed to be a horse. All that said, best tips I have for making the hat is to use a very strong sturdy interfacing (the one I have is sturdier than cardboard, but is technically fabric and can be bought by the yard with the rest of the interfacing) and an iron to force the curve into it. Also, fabric glue or stitch witchery to hold the curve in place. Faux leather is difficult to sew, but I've heard that felt is easier, and can still look realistic as felt cowboy hats do exist. Also rare earth magnets are great for holding the hat on. use fabri-tac to glue one on the inside of the brim, and sew one into the inside of her mane, and then the hat and pony will just click together and stay that way without any unnecessary cords or safety pins.

Are you still makin' thses? I would like one! If so, how much? I can't go any higher than $150.00 tho :( cause I don't have that kind of money and I would really want a realistic Applejack for Christmas :)

Sorry, but I don't use that pattern anymore, and also my commissions prices are much higher. I'd suggest browsing my-little-plushie, the deviantart group, and/or buying :iconvalleyviolet: 's pattern so you can try your hand at making an Applejack yourself!:)

I'm so glad you like her, but I've worked really really insanely hard on this pattern and I really don't want to just give that away. Also, even if I did, I'm not sure it would be very helpful since I doubt anyone but me would be able to figure out what I mean by all the markings on it.

1) That's awesome! It's always great to try new hobbies, and it's possible I'm biased since I've always been a crafter, but crafting is a great one to try!
2) If there's anything you need help with, send me a note! I'd be happy to help with just about anything!

What site did you get the orange minky for applejack from? I need some for one I'm making for my mom for her birthday, but can't find the right orange.

I think I got it from fabricdepot.com but I can't quite remember. It's called mango, or on some sites, "saffron yellow" and the yellow is just regular yellow from just about any minky site, although I'm pretty sure I got it from fabric.com. Hope that helps!:)

I found mango and yellow on that fabric depot.com. 30 bucks after shipping for just a yard and a 1/2 of fabric! No wonder these plushies go for so much when the fabric alone is this expensive. But my mom's worth it. Thanks again!

Yeah, it isn't cheap. I really wish it was though! That's why I have to keep track of which sites are good for what, and it's most cost-effective to order a lot of minky at once. I hope your mom likes her present!:)
