Frequently Asked Questions

Hello everyone! I've gotten a lot of questions recently about plushie commissions, and a couple of other things too, so to answer a few future questions, here are some answers!

Q: Am I open for commissions right now?

A: Nope!

Q: When will I be open for commissions?

A: I'm not sure, at the moment. See [link] for guidelines.

Q: What are your prices for [insert character/type of pony here]?

A: Send me a note!

Q: Do you have a tumblr?

A: Funny you should ask*! Indeed I do! [link]

Q: Are you a grandmother/40-something?

A: Oddly, I get this one a lot. No, I am not a grandmother. I am also not 40. I am 19. Do I talk in an elderly way? I'm genuinely confused why I get this question so often.

Q: Do you sell your pattern/how much does your pattern cost/where did you get your pattern?

A: No I don't sell my pattern. For that reason it costs both nothing and everything. I drafted it myself with some help on geometry and a lot of constructive critique from my wonderful mother.

Q: What is the airspeed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?

A: African or European?

Q: Do you make any plushies other than ponies?

A: Recently, no. I have though, and I plan to whenever I get the time to sit down and draft entirely new patterns.

Q: Can you send me your embroidery designs?

A: Nope! Sorry, but here's some designs and patches you can buy from someone who's fantastic at machine embroidery: [link]

I have a commission to finish, numerous con ponies to make, and a camping trip, not to mention going to work! Sometimes it seems like it would be nice to have one of those remotes from the episode of The Fairly Odd Parents where Timmy could rewind or fast-forward time at will. I would just pause time so that I could work on plushies without distractions. It's possible that I went through all of the Fairly Odd Parents episodes Netflix has while working on plushies last week. And yesterday I finished watching Doogie Howser. I'm running out of shows for background noise.

I really don't know how other artists can make plushies so quickly! (I'm looking at you, Spacevoyager... :P ) But if anything, this has made me even more impressed with your pace!

If you're going to FE! (Oh goodness 33 days how am I going to manage this in 33 days) please visit my table! Even if you don't want to buy anything, it'd be nice to have visitors! I'll be at table G5. :)

Oh and thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on my machine! It seems like, judging from those suggestions, I just need to get my machine oiled. Unfortunately because it has computerized parts, that means another 3 days at the sewing machine doctor that I can't afford right now, time-wise, so hopefully I can get done embroidering soon and drop it off.

I started making plushies a year ago and I really love it! I would love to design and pattern the plushies that are sold at the Disney store. It's my current life goal. :) Other hobbies include: Drawing (badly), sculpting, drinking Dr Pepper, watching too much How I Met Your Mother and not ever enough Disney movies, singing (very badly), and room decorating (slowly). I've been sewing since I was 5 and have wanted to be some kind of artist for as long as I can remember. I'm very forgetful and easily bored, and I'm really really really bad at math. I like it when people ask technique questions because it makes me feel smart and I don't like it when people ask for my pattern because it makes me feel overly defensive. I hate non-mechanical pencils and will write 3 pages in Sharpie before I'll write a word with one. I have a cat. His name is Oreo and he sits when he wants a treat. He's adorable but completely defective and un-cat-like. He limps when he walks, which is okay because I do too. He got a new sister named Ubuntu who loves minky, unfortunately. She tries to eat it which is entirely unhelpful. She is actually my brother's kitten, so I guess she's more like Oreo's cousin. I like Beauty and the Beast and my family is composed of nerds.

Lastly, I never stay on topic when not writing in essay format. You'll get used to it. Or not.

No problem! I love Mickey and Minnie. The whole last half of my sketchbook is nothing but them in varying expressions. :)
